When Funding is the Barrier

Adaptive equipment isn’t just equipment.
A stroller can mean family outings again. An adaptive bike can mean riding alongside siblings and friends. A gait trainer can mean participation at school, therapy, and in the community.
The goal was never simply to help families buy equipment. The goal has always been to help people participate more fully in life.
Over the years, we’ve helped thousands of families navigate adaptive equipment. Again and again, we saw the same challenge: families had found the right equipment, therapists and medical teams supported it, and everyone agreed it could make a meaningful difference—but funding remained the biggest obstacle.
Sometimes insurance denied the equipment or covered only part of the cost. Other families faced long waits for Medicaid, waiver funding, grants, or school approval. Many needed equipment sooner because a child had outgrown what they were using, while others were already balancing therapy, medical, travel, and everyday family expenses. Too often, equipment that could improve participation, independence, or comfort was treated as optional rather than essential.
More Than Crowdfunding
We get it—raising the money is only one part of the journey.
With traditional crowdfunding, families may reach their goal and then still have to figure out which equipment is right, confirm measurements, compare options, request quotes, place the order, and manage delivery. After putting so much energy into fundraising, that can feel like starting all over again.
We believed there should be a better way.
With MobilityFunder, we help you choose, configure, and quote the equipment before your campaign begins. Your fundraising goal is tied to a real, approved equipment purchase, so when the campaign is complete, the next steps are already in place.
You are not left to navigate the equipment side alone. MobilityFunder combines the support of your community with the experience and guidance of Tadpole Adaptive.
We’re with you through the entire journey—from selecting and quoting the right equipment to ordering, delivery, and everything in between.
Your Circle of Support
One thing we’ve learned over the years is that families often have more support around them than they realize.
Friends, relatives, coworkers, teachers, therapists, churches, neighbors, and community groups often genuinely want to help. They may simply need a clear way to understand the goal, see why it matters, and become part of the journey.
That support network is what we call your hive.
Your hive does not have to be enormous, and no one person has to carry the full cost. A successful campaign is often built through many people contributing, sharing, encouraging, and inviting others to join in.
MobilityFunder helps bring those people together around a specific piece of equipment and the meaningful outcome it can help make possible.
Built By People Who’ve Been There

MobilityFunder was created by the team behind Tadpole Adaptive, a disability-owned and operated company that has spent years helping families navigate mobility, positioning, and adaptive equipment.
We understand that finding the right equipment can be complicated, emotional, and sometimes exhausting. We’ve worked through measurements, configurations, funding challenges, changing needs, and the many questions that come between choosing a product and finally receiving it.
MobilityFunder grew out of those real conversations and real experiences. It wasn’t created as crowdfunding software first—it was created because we saw families who needed a better, more supported path.
We built the kind of platform we wished already existed: one that combines lived experience, equipment expertise, honest guidance, and community support from beginning to end.
Thrive From Your Hive
MobilityFunder isn’t really about fundraising—it’s about what becomes possible when people come together around someone they care about.
A contribution can help move a campaign forward. A share can introduce the story to someone new. A message of encouragement can remind a family that their community is behind them. Every part of the hive can play a role.
When that support comes together, it can lead to far more than a completed campaign. It can mean riding with siblings, joining family outings, participating at school, moving with greater independence, or simply being more comfortable in everyday life.
That is the heart of MobilityFunder: helping families turn community support into meaningful, real-world outcomes.
When your hive rallies around your journey, incredible things can happen.
