Lucas’s Community Made It Happen!

Lucas’s community rallied around him incredibly quickly. 42 supporters raised $3,545, exceeding his original $3,320 goal and fully funding the adaptive bike his family hoped for.

His mom shared:

“You all are amazing!!!! In less than 24 hours you helped us raise over $3,000 for a new adaptive bike for Lucas!!! We are completely humbled by the outpouring amount of support. It has been a rough few weeks for us and this just helps us to see that we are never alone in this journey. Thank you doesn’t even seem to be enough.”

For Lucas, the Rifton trike meant more than a new bike. It gave him another way to be active outdoors, build independence, and enjoy meaningful time with his family.

We are so exciting to be able to share an opportunity with you that will benefit Lucas tremendously!!

Lucas has worked hard with different types of bikes to find the best option for him. The Rifton Trike allows him the best opportunity for success and independence while still getting the support he needs from others.

Those who have the honors of knowing Lucas understand just how active this boy is and how much he loves to be outside! Finding a way to productively get energy out will help with overall self-regulation and allow us as a family to enjoy more meaningful time together.

For Lucas, being able to move, explore, and get outside is an important part of everyday life. His family hoped an adaptive bike of his own would give him another productive outlet for all that energy while supporting self-regulation, independence, and more meaningful adventures together.
