Felix’s Story

Felix is the youngest of four children and truly a miracle. He survived the same medical event that tragically took the life of his older brother, defying every prognosis along the way. Today, Felix lives with complex medical needs that require full-time care, including ventilator support and specialized mobility equipment. Despite these challenges, he is simply a little boy who loves Bluey, toy cows, cuddles, and spending time with his family.

Because Felix needs significant postural support while sitting, his only current options are his wheelchair or his car seat. Unfortunately, neither provides the comfort or support he needs. Standard seating is designed for much smaller body proportions, but Felix is growing quickly and is much bigger than other children his age in height, weight, and head circumference. As a result, he has already outgrown the P Pod that once gave him a comfortable place to sit and be part of everyday family life.

That P Pod became Felix’s happy place. Instead of spending all of his time in a hospital bed, it allowed him to sit alongside his siblings during movie nights, family dinners, playdates, and other special moments that simply aren’t possible from a bed. With a new, appropriately sized P Pod and mobility base, caregivers will be able to move Felix comfortably from room to room so he can continue participating in family activities and enjoy being included in everyday life.

Now, as Felix celebrates his birthday, friends and family have been asking how they can help. His occupational therapist has measured him for the next size P Pod, and this new equipment will make a meaningful difference in his comfort, mobility, and quality of life for years to come.

Every donation brings Felix one step closer to spending less time in bed and more time making memories with the people he loves. Thank you for helping give Felix the opportunity to enjoy the simple moments of childhood that every child deserves.
