Mateo Got His New Seat!

Mateo’s original MobilityFunder campaign brought together 5 supporters who raised $710 toward his adaptive car seat. His family was ultimately able to complete the purchase, and Mateo received the supportive seating he needed.

His mom later shared these wonderful photos of Mateo using his new seat on everyday trips and family adventures. Seeing him safe, comfortable, and smiling is the best possible ending to his campaign!

Mateo's Story

Mateo is a beautiful, strong, playful and loving 5 year old boy. Mateo was diagnosed with severe Autism at the age of 3. Since then we have worked really hard as a family to provide the best at home environment for Mateo as well as safety when in the car.

Mateo is currently in a specialized school and continues to work on communication, elopement and practicing safe behaviors. Mateo is growing so quickly and he has managed to undo 3 different car seats (designed for neurotypical children) and additional safety buckles we have purchased to add to the 5 point harness. At this time Mateo really needs an adaptive car seat to keep him safe at all times. We are a family of 5 so Mateo is often in the car as we support his siblings in their sports, etc.
